About Us

Mike Heinze is a lifelong resident of Eaton County and the Potterville area. Mike's father, Ron Heinze, operated a TV and electronics sales & service business in Potterville, Michigan for over 50 years. Mike grew up helping his father in the family business as a teenager and after attending Alma College from 1968 to 1972 with a degree in Political Science. Mike served on the Potterville City Council for 18 years with tenures as mayor and mayor-pro-tem.
From 1982 to 1998, Mike worked in Cable Television for Horizon Cablevision as Technical Manager and for many years as a general partner. The company was sold in 1998 and Mike worked for 3 years in Brazil in telecommunications providing engineering and technical oversight for the deployment of over 3,000 km of Hybrid Fiber Optic/Coaxial telecommunications infrastructure.
In 2008, Mike learned that the US broadcasters were migrating to digital transmission platform of their local signals. Mike felt there was a need for an experienced rooftop installation company in mid-Michigan and in May 2008 launced a new company callled "Mike Heinze Reception Services" under the auspices of "The Antenna Men".

Mike's son Derek is a partner in the company.
Mike's wife and Derek's mother, Patty Willett-Heinze is a nurse at Hayes Green Beach Hospital. Patty makes sure The Antenna Men are always presentable when on duty, with clean clothes, hydration, and medical support for job related injuries. Derek specializes in climbing steep roofs, high towers, utility poles and windmills to provide quality installation and service/repair of antennas.

When in service, Mike & Derek have a mobile warehouse with a large working inventory. On board are Channel Master, Digitenna, Antennacraft and Winegard antennas, Channel Master & Winegard amplifers, Channel Master Rotors, towers, tripods, custom mounts, coax cables, rotor control wires and grounding materials and connectors.
